Well, I'll be 38 weeks tomorrow. I'm going to the doctor weekly now and things are going well. Last week they did an ultrasound because I was measuring small. Everything looked great and Kate is a healthy baby! She measured at 6lbs. 14oz.! They were very pleased with all the measurements they had to do and said she had chubby cheeks! We don't know where she got that from! My diabetes doesn't seem to be an issue with her either! My amniotic fluid looks great too! We were so excited to hear all the great news! The doctor checked to see how I was progressing as well. Today, I went back to the doctor for my weekly check up and they checked my progress again. No change from last week. I'm 50% effaced and +1 station, but not dialated. However, Kate is head down and far enough down for them to say I shouldn't have to push for very long, which is great news!
Now, as far as the week of celebration goes...
Yesterday, 6 years ago, Hank and I met! My best friend Joy, who was a classmate of his, introduced us. We went to a bible study that night called 7|22 and Joy and I met up with him and he rode with us. I was driving my 2 door civic, so of course he had to ride in the front to fit! The whole ride there, every time I came to a stop, he put my car in neutral without me noticing! He thought it was hilarious, but I always thought something was wrong with my car! LOL! So we had a great time at the bible study! Joy had already told me about him before that night, but had not told him anything about me yet. So that night after we dropped him off at his car we talked about him and of course I was interested! So she texted him to see what he thought of me. He asked how old I was because he thought I was younger than I was. So she told him I was 20 and not 18 (which was Joy's age). He was 22 at the time. I guess the rest was history! The next day (today, 6 years ago), was the first morning I woke up knowing that I was in love with him and he was who God wanted me to marry! That was also the last day we didn't talk or see each other, because the next day we saw each other again and he asked for my number! That day, I remember quite well! Joy and I went and met up with him and another friend of theirs at the bowling alley. We then went to the mall to eat and walk around. Joy and their other friend ducked out of a store we were in and left us! We looked for them and called them, but couldn't find them and they wouldn't answer their phones. So finally he said "I don't care if you dont!" and I said "Ok, I don't either!" Then I knew he liked me too and I was sooo glad! That night I went with Joy to the class she had with him and I didn't even sit with her, I sat with him! We passed notes and all that high school stuff and that's when he asked for my number! The next day (the 22nd) we went on our first official date with Joy and her future husband and their other friend and another friend of mine. So it was a triple date at the mall of GA and we had a great time! We held hands for a split second because right when we did, everyone was ready to leave from dinner! Great, right!? Then when it was time to leave I said something like "is it against your religion to not hug?" and he laughed and said "no" and then hugged me. It was official, we were together and it never ended! I'll never forget those memories! They make me so giddy! He came at the most perfect time in my life and I am so thankful for him! Our love and relationship gets better every day and I can't believe that the Lord picked me to be with him! He's so great! So Joy does play a big part in our relationship, but she knows that she doesn't get all the credit! The Lord really used her! We are so blessed! Also, one year after our first date (the 22nd), he proposed to me in his aunts beautiful garden with candles everywhere! It was so romantic and more than I could have ever imagined! He really outdid himself and I just love him so much!
